About the Program

It is important to us that all boys have an equal opportunity to attend course and that financial hardship should not be a barrier. To help with this, we do our best to keep course fees as low as possible in the following ways:

• All leaders and staff are volunteers
• Camp McClaren donates the use of the campsite to us without charge
• The Boys Brigade Victoria McClaren Trust subsidises course fees for every BB Vic Member by $80
• Course fees are set to allow the course to break even, not to make a profit

In addition to this, a number of course scholarships are made available each year. The dollar value of each scholarship is determined according to the course's goal of allowing as many boys as possible to attend course and may cover up to a maximum of 50% of the course fees per boy.

In addition to this, most Brigade companies and home churches are also keen to support boys attending course and we request you first ask your Boys Brigade company and/or church community to join in supporting the boys scholarship position to aid our ability to support more boys.

We understand it can be uncomfortable to ask for financial support. We do not require applicants to share any details as to the circumstances that have lead you to requesting a scholarship position. The only people who will process an application will be the course director and relevant course coordinator.

Limited scholarship funds are available and placements are at the sole discretion of the course.

Application Dates

Our process and 2022 dates for applications are:

• All scholarship applications (below) to be submitted by Mar 12
• Course Director and Course Coordinator to review applications
• Applicants to be notified Mar 21 at the latest
